Overview

What are you up against?

In your role, you deal with different stakeholders, from different departments. And that’s pretty busy. One stakeholder wants this. The other wants that. And that changes every so often.

So how do you set your priorities? How do you avoid becoming a plaything for your stakeholders?  And how do you achieve results together?

The objective of this program

This program makes you more effective in dealing with different stakeholders and different interests.

After this you will be better able to:

You engage with your stakeholder on setting the right priorities. You strengthen the relationship so that you get involved more and more often. You can work better with “difficult” characters and know how to turn your own resistance, as well as that of the other, into a positive result.

Who is this program for?

You have little time and therefore little need to take in gort-dry theory. Because that’s boring! You hate long-winded training sessions. Because you are busy! You learn much more from good practice and by practicing a lot. Then you immediately apply the new skills. Because you learn on the job!

We evaluate your experiences together. We try not to change you completely. Because you are already completely okay!

Program modules:

In the first module, you will learn more about your own stakeholder environment. Who plays a role in it? What are your stakeholders trying to achieve? How can you be of value? This helps you (together with your stakeholder) to set the right priorities.

You’ll also learn how to effectively engage in a conversation with your stakeholder. You’ll become aware of the quality of the relationship you have with stakeholders and how you can strengthen those relationships. This will increase your impact.

In the ideal world, your stakeholders are nice, kind and extremely understanding. But in the real world, that’s not always the case.

You just don’t have your stakeholders to choose from. You will have to be able to work with “difficult” characters as well. How do you do that?

In this module you first become aware of your own preferred style in dealing with  “difficult” stakeholders. Then you learn to apply other styles. You get tools to stay in balance when things get tense and to effectively discuss issues. So that the situation does not escalate but mutual understanding arises. And so you can work together with “difficult” characters.

In this module module 1 and 2 come together. You apply all tools and techniques in the (fictitious) Business Game. This is a safe environment in which you can experiment to your heart’s content. And you can experience how applying all the tools and techniques learned will make you more effective and impactful. After which you can confidently go to work with your real stakeholders.
